A date change affects more than the truck calendar. It can change terminal appointments, receiving labour, equipment availability and the timing of an empty return. Tell the transport contact as soon as a change is known, even when the replacement date is still tentative.

State what changed

Send the shipment and container references, the old window, the proposed window and the reason relevant to operations. Explain whether cargo readiness, terminal release or destination access is affected. Mark a date as requested until the carrier accepts it.

Reconfirm connected bookings

Ask the terminal or equipment controller about their current instructions. Update loading crews, building access and receiving contacts. If the container is not ready, identify who can confirm readiness and when they expect to know. Avoid sending different dates to different parties.

Review the commercial scope

Ask whether the revision changes waiting, additional trips or other quoted assumptions. A revised request does not automatically carry the same availability or price. Obtain a written confirmation and replace the old date in the shared shipment plan.

Driver Can Cargo’s online request collects preferred dates; it does not guarantee a reserved slot. The team reviews changes against the actual lane and equipment. Customers remain responsible for coordinating their packing/loading arrangements with any accepted schedule.
