A 40-foot dry container is a common unit for general cargo, but a transport request still needs shipment-specific review. Container length alone does not establish whether a move can be accepted: loaded status, cargo weight, chassis compatibility, pickup conditions, route constraints and receiving-site access also matter. Keep the container number and booking details consistent across the parties coordinating the shipment.
What to prepare
Provide the container number when available, loaded or empty status, approximate gross weight, commodity handling notes that affect loading or unloading, pickup location and delivery address. Confirm the delivery site can accommodate a tractor and chassis, identify a safe waiting area and share the receiving hours. Tell the carrier promptly if weight, appointment or cargo-release information changes.
Keep the move specific
The carrier can review the information and confirm whether the requested move fits its equipment and schedule. Do not treat a general description as an equipment or weight approval.
