A clear broker-to-carrier handoff gives dispatch one current version of the shipment. It connects the booking reference, container, pickup readiness and receiving plan. Start with the facts needed to move the unit rather than a long email chain with conflicting updates.
Tender the complete load brief
Include broker reference, container number when available, 20- or 40-foot dry size, loaded status, estimated gross weight and exact Quebec endpoints. Provide the current release status, pickup instructions, receiving window and operational contacts.
Assign the outstanding confirmations
State who obtains the release, who provides a corrected pickup reference and who can authorize a revised appointment. Mark pending items with an owner and expected update time. Ask the carrier to confirm acceptance; sending a tender alone does not reserve equipment.
Keep changes traceable
Use the same shipment reference in updates and clearly identify what changed. Tell dispatch before a weight revision, additional stop or receiving change affects the move. Keep the broker and destination contacts available during collection and delivery.
Driver Can Cargo’s broker collaboration application collects company details, preferred Quebec lanes and expected volume for a direct rate discussion. Individual load tenders still need their own shipment details and transport confirmation.
